That was another magic in the Weizhou island. I’ve heard this island quite a lot before. Surprisedly, when I was looking for advice from friends that was no one around me actually been there. After days and days considering the pros and cons, me and the bride decided to take the risk to have a trip to there. I am glad we did. She likes the place that can contain her old school church look and also with beautiful landscapes. Without going overseas, there is no doubt that nowhere else can be more suitable than this little island in the Southern Bay Area of Guangxi.
Hi, I would like to share the project I've done as a creative director. It was a stressful but fulfilling process, but I was lucky to get to lead a creative team and eventually reached our goal - got published on the best UK wedding blog. As a nature-inspired videographer and photographer, I have always been drawn to the outdoors looking for bold, adventurous style weddings set within beautiful landscapes. When I began thinking and preparing for this styled shoot, I was trying to marry two words together, Adventurous and Boho. Researching this concept and looking for inspiration using the two words identified a lot of dusty west coast locations with intense red flowers and bohemian styling. I decided that I would redefine this style and adapt it to a minimal summer UK backdrop with lush greenery. After settling on my concept, I began getting a team together of like-minded individuals. My partnerJoe was the main photographer for this shoot, his background in photography since getting a degree has been to explore landscapes and the graphic nature of the art form. He brings with him a thoughtfulness towards aesthetic enriched by form and function. The real-life couple, Kennie and Joseph recently arrived in London coming from the relatively quiet settings of rural Wales brought with them a natural sense of adventure and also the calmness of being back in their roots. All these details helped us fashion the shoot we wanted and demonstrated this new vision perfectly. Even the bluebells popped up at the right time to add more character to the shoot. Venue: Set within 400 acres of beautiful woodlands Patrick’s barn Sussex is such a summer wonderland. The adventurous couple were soon running around in the shimmering glades surrounded by beautiful natural wild flowers. We were so struck by the peaceful and serene surroundings that decided we set up the reception table right there amongst the bluebells. The champagne was opened and it was a magnificent outdoor ceremony for the couple to read their vows. A small greenhouse within the grounds provided some intimate moments, followed by cake cutting as the sun set beside the lake. Florist: The flowers were gotten from Jane ’s studio in Brighton- Dove & Myrtle. Jane creates bespoke wild and natural floral designs for couples planning relaxed, informal celebrations. Her signature style is painterly and abundant with a hint of secret gardens and the Bohemian. The brief for this shoot was an intimate boho elopement with lots of greenery. Jane’s idea was using different foliages in shades of soft grey & silver to compliment rather than compete with the amazing outdoor location. Adding lavender hued flowers such as campanula brought an added untamed element to the bridal bouquet which she wanted to look natural and romantic but not overly "pretty". The flowers were styled to look as though they'd been freshly gathered that morning. All the elements were magically interwoven together by the beautiful flowers and leaves. Bridal dress: The wedding dress is provided by Aneberry, a London-based bridal designer devoted to creating breath-taking boho chic wedding dresses for modern brides. The dress we are using is ‘Blanca’. It is bold, feminine and dramatic. The dress features a high neck design with cap- shoulder sleeves. The illusion sweetheart neckline allows the lace flowers to stand out against the skin. A keyhole opening stretching to the lower waist at the back, reveals the bear skins and breaks up the floral patterns completing the dress with a wow factor. The trim on the neckline and around the shoulders, as well as the chiffon frill added space to the lace patterns, which transforms a traditional floral wedding dress to a modern one. The skirt is light up by a high centre split, which made it easier to walk and you’ll be able to showcase your lovely wedding shoes. Blanca dress is great for the barn and outdoor garden weddings. Cake: The cake is made by Cakes and leaves. The all natural and minimalist tree tier cake matched the bohemian feeling of the wedding inside out. Decorated purely with lush forest greenery, it blended into its surrounding perfectly, complimenting the beauty of nature. The soft Italian meringue buttercream was flavoured with matcha green tea and vanilla - a contemporary pairing of sweet and earthy flavours. Stationery:Abbie Worton Design designed the whole collection of the stationery for this shoot. The invitation suite is a bespoke, romantic and elegant design, using handmade papers, flowing calligraphy and hand sketched foliage. The stationery was all printed on cotton rag paper with deckled edges for an elegantly rustic feel. Some of the items were finished with a hand dyed silk ribbon and sealed with a wax stamp, perfect for the boho yet elegant couple. Prop hire: The boho style is the perfect choice for wedding sat the day light and outdoors. LOCATE TO CREATE provided the casual and romantic look of Bride and Groom and nature elements in the decoration, such as flowers, carpets, crochet, round puffs and rustic furniture combines with thegreenery boho characteristics. It’s important to get the perfect elements, and do the amazing graphic composition of the photo shoot. hair and make-up :The boho hair styling by Sarah. She added a mix of fishtails, infinity and regular 3 strands. Sarah says Boho hair wouldn’t be complete without stunning fresh flowers that she individually placed, her personal favourite flowers to add into any hairstyle are thistles. The gorgeous natural make up was by FREY DE PAOLI. The bride’s makeup was natural. So the foundation used here is Estée Lauder double wear. It’s renowned to be long lasting and a fuller coverage. The eyeshadow looks natural, but it’s lots of thin layers of makeup in order to give longevity and to look perfect!! The blusher looks rosy on here but in real life may feel like a little more than you’re used to. catering hire: We could not have a result like that without the fantastic catering hire from Co-Ordination. The coloured plates paired with the elegant LIza rose cutlery were appropriate to the Boho natural feel. Catering Each wedding should be accompanied by the best cuisine that suits the occasion. Such services can be acquired easily through The Garden Chef. BTS |
